25 DE JULIO DE 2015 – VENCE EL PLAZO PARA QUE LOS ALCALDES REGULEN LA PROPAGANDA ELECTORAL EN EL ESPACIO PÚBLICO

La Procuraduría General de la Nación, mediante el boletín No. 723, recordó a todos los alcaldes municipales que el próximo sábado 25 de julio de 2015 vence el plazo para que los alcaldes regulen en sus municipios el uso de espacios públicos para propaganda electoral.

En consecuencia, antes de dicha fecha deberán expedir los decretos que regulen en sus municipios la forma, características, lugares y condiciones para la fijación de carteles, pasacalles, afiches y vallas destinadas a difundir propaganda de los candidatos a las próximas elecciones de mandatarios y corporaciones públicas del orden territorial.

La Procuraduría recuerda que los mandatarios locales tienen el deber de expedir el señalado acto administrativo, garantizando el acceso equitativo de los partidos y movimientos, agrupaciones y candidatos a la utilización de los sitios autorizados para fijar esta clase de propaganda, en armonía con el derecho de la comunidad a disfrutar el uso de los espacios públicos y a la preservación de la estética. En este sentido, los alcaldes pueden limitar el número de vallas, afiches y elementos publicitarios destinados a difundir propaganda electoral.
